Turffontein Racecourse was built in 1887 making it one of the oldest horse racing venues in South Africa. It is regarded as one of the stiffest race tracks due to a steady climb from about the 1200m
to the final turn, so horses racing from well off the pace actually hold every chance of winning.
It is not only a famous horseracing venue, but also one of the most popular banqueting venues in Johannesburg. |
